I’m not sure if this is regular moulting or something else!

Should I look into those saddles for hens? We have 7 hens and 1 Roo, so I didn’t think overbreeding would be a concern😅

I’m not sure if this is regular moulting or something else!

This is my showgirl sizzle and she’s been looking extra ugly for the last week or two and I assumed it was just moulting and now I’m just nervous I was wrong

Does my roo look like a sizzle?

I recently got silkie chicks and just learned about sizzles when my silkie Aurora got curly feathers(black chick in image attached) and I’ve learnt you can’t breed sizzles together. This leads to my question, does my roo look like a sizzle, or is it too early to tell? I want to be prepared if I...

    First babies

Hello! So, my one year old duck started sitting on her eggs maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago, this is her first time sitting and she has 16! However we noticed some of them had gone rotten, and I was wondering why? Also, how likely is it that she'll actually hatch the babies successfully? If I were to...

    Getting along and introducing

So, we have two, couple month old Khakis and two, one year old Pekins and the Pekins often case and sometimes bite at the khakis and I was wondering if there was a way to make them get along better? The Pekins are one girl and one boy and the khakis are too young to determine gender. We also...

    Honking? And Marking.

Hi! So I have four Pekin ducks, nearly four weeks old, and three of them have started doing this weird honking? Two of them only do it sometimes and mostly just peep, but the third one does it more than it peeps. I was wondering if this indicates the sex? I read that females start quacking...

    First Time Duck Owner!

Well, my mom went ahead and ordered them, but we got mixed. So I have no idea the gender, you said more males than females would be bad, but what about equal numbers? I'm really worried now. It was cheaper and we're spending a lot on supplies to set up for them and gosh now I'm super worried...

    I have a cat :$

Thank you for all the replies, my duckies come in May 12th!! My cat, Yoda is a pretty small cat but he still does love to hunt, we sometimes catch him with chipmunks but he's also pretty lazy, so we hope he just ignore them.

    I have a cat :$

Will my 11 year old cat be a huge threat to new ducks? I plan to keep the seperate while they're still ducklings, but when they're moved outside and bigger will my cat want to hunt them? Thanks!

    First Time Duck Owner!

I want to get Pekin Ducks, this is my first time owning birds, and I want to get four, is it safe to get 2/3 males and 1/2 females? Or should they all be male or female? Will the males fight over the females? Thanks!!
