The other 3 of mine hatched, so I have 6/6 that went into lockdown, but all 6 are black!!! No lavender :( but they are still adorable. I will post a pic in the morning when they are dry :) fingers crossed they are all at least silkied.
Started with 9 eggs, 3 had no development, 6 made it to lock down, and 3 have hatched! Sadly all 3 are black, I was really hoping for my purple chicken :( fingers crossed they are silkied at least :)
I'm giving the other 3 a few more days, but there is no pipping or anything, but today is day...
It is a long shot, but figured I would ask. For those of you that kill cull when the chicks hatch, would you ever be willing to mail those chicks (still alive) to me? I would pay for the shipping(I'm in WA). I understand how much these birds cost, but if you're going to kill them anyway, why not...
May not be appropriate for this thread, but the eggs in question are silkied Ameraucanas, so thought I would ask....I candled my shipped eggs again tonight. None of them have round air sacs, they are almost round and have an almost dime sized extra "dip" further down the side of the egg, or are...
So 3 for sure are duds, the others have a dark blob in them. My little flashlight isn't strong enough for the blue shell for details, so I guess it will be a blind hatch for me :)
So I received and set my siams eggs last week. I noticed that the aircells in almost all of them were floating around but didn't think anything of it. (This is my second time using an incubator.) Today I was reading about detached aircells.
Did I totally ruin my chances of hatching these guys...
