May not be appropriate for this thread, but the eggs in question are silkied Ameraucanas, so thought I would ask....I candled my shipped eggs again tonight. None of them have round air sacs, they are almost round and have an almost dime sized extra "dip" further down the side of the egg, or are completely misshapen( I.e. not round at all). Do I need to do anything special for lockdown and hatching? They are currently air sac up, and being turned constantly in my brinsea auto turner. They are on day 11. Thank you!!!

I bought Lav eggs from thespoiledchicken last week after stalking the auction thread for a couple weeks. I just spent the last several days catching up on the original thread. I only made it to about page 193--about the time alicefelldown sold her chickens. So now I'm starting on this thread to learn more about these birds that will soon (hopefully) be running around my yard. I got 15 eggs, one I slipped under a broody--the other 14 are in the bator, cooking. Due to hatch two weeks from today.

Don't think anybody here minds helping out in any case. Since day 11 and you obviously candled - if youdon't see development - pitch the egg. Other than that, just let them ride to lock down. I do like to hatch upright tho, so instead of laying eggs down at lockdown, either just turn off turner or cut out as much as you can of eggcarton. Good luck!!!!!!!!

It's hatch time! The eggs I got from @Thespoiledchicken were in excellent condition and I immediately plopped them in the incubator. These are the chicks that have hatched so far.

I absolutely loved the Lavender color as soon as I saw it. And then I guess the babies realized that because...

And I have a single black chick, who is probably one of the cutest babies I've ever seen. She is so sweet!

Now we wait and see if we get anymore babes. I'm absolutely in love with these little guys and I can't wait for them to start growing up.

5 chicks so far! :D
