Yes they do this it happened to me lucky it was in the white of my eye otherwise a damaged cornea could be a big issue also I disinfected the eye as you know chicken beaks are dirty I am good now
Does it look inverted and is it internal skin or clear
Use some vasoline see if you can find an edge on the film to slid one way or another but dont break the egg
sorry to hear this I had the same issue and would only have them mixed with each other when I was around and could jump in and stop an issue takes a long time for them to get along best thing is to wait until they are same size then start mixing slowly for short periods of time I have been doing...
YES let them out but be sure they have food and water and dry corn when eaten produces heat and leave the coop door open mine have been out on 9 degree snow days:)
The light had nothing to do with it (warmer is better for all animals) and come on temps go up and down all year round sounds like she fell or was egg bound I bet that was it
also is the coop properly vented (fresh air) yes 25 chickens is alot I wouls also add wood shavings once a week and get it deep u can use lysol to clean thats what i do as well
First time mine stayed inside I guess cause of the high wind and snow and they wont walk in the snow at all is that normal I have to shovel an area for them??
Sorry to hear about your issues I have had the same but no blood just chasing the new hens around who are now 15 weeks old and in the same coop now 9 weeks I have tried all that has been mentioned but best thing you can do is give them alot of space.
Make sure you are using a good Layer feed and my 3 hens started laying 3 eggs a day at 20 weeks never missed a day and in the winter short days I use a light in and outside so they stay outside longer and their day is then longer so they lay eggs daily
