Well I just finished putting on the roof, j feeders, and water nipples on my hutch. I still need to make hay racks and buy some dropping pan trays. Im having a hard time finding trays, they are so expensive. Does any one have any ideas on how to make trays?
Can anyone tell me when setting up my automatic watering system do I need to use something different than the standard 1/4" clear tubing? I heard that the tubing can create algae and apparently that is bad for the rabbits?
I have a pretty big hutch setup where it has five separate compartments. Three of them are 2' x 3' and two of them are 3' x 3'. Should I keep the doe and the buck in the compartments farthest from each other? Does it really matter? I read somewhere that they shouldn't be able to see each other...

I'm just now starting build my setup for a rabbitry, what method did you use to kill your rabbit? From videos I like the ringer option because it seems fool proof.
Thank you I will try to find the book. I have another question though. If I start off with just a buck and one doe should I try to get them from different breeders? Does it matter with rabbits?
Ok so I need some guidance on rabbits. I'm starting to set up my rabbit hutch. I live in Michigan and it is typically very cold here. Should I have a nest box in there all the time while it's cold?
Since the chicks are still so small you can just put them in a bigger box until you get the rubber maid tub. They should be fine for two weeks in a big cardboard box still, but yeah the rubber tub is the best for the price.
That's plenty of room for ten chickens. You have to remember that they are outside most of the day anyway. When it's cold at night they want to huddle together to stay warm. Just try to keep drafts away during cold days.
Just go to Walmart right now and buy a regular lamp that has a clamp on it. And a red heat light bulb. You will find this in the pet section. Then get a bigger box for them so that you can have heat on one side of the box and less heat on the other side of the box. This way they can choose how...
