The chicken in question for #2 looks like a new Hampshire or road island red however the one up front looks looks like my bantam Cochin if that is feathers on its feet I see? Also looks like if it is a bantam Cochin it looks like a roo.
Has anyone out there mixed their Cochin s with a better egg laying breed like a Leghorn or other similar good layer? How was the offsprings egg production and personality. Wondering if I can try and cross breed for the look and personality of Cochin but with better egg production. Pics please!!
Have they ever been wormed? ( DE does not take care of worms in chickens it's a preventative at best) I'd worm them and check for lice and mites DE is also only a preventative at best for those

Not really but they are excellent mothers and very docile and friendly. Great roos too not aggressive :) I keep a few for broodys and use them for my roos as I have kids and don't tolerate aggressive roos.
