So, no one answered the question in a previous post about boric acid and cockroach control. I have what I would call an infestation of cockroaches, not palmetto bugs or woodroaches, and I am SICK over it. Cockroaches are my nemesis and I must figure out a solution to this problem. Please help!
still no improvements . cant get her to stand or eat. forcing water with a dropper. she seems to have labiored breathing now...opening and closing her mouth.
I am pretty sure her head is fine. she is a good egg layer. I give my chickens that crushed oyster shell, but haven't given it to my quail. I was under the impression that I needed something for game birds, and this is the only thing available at my farm store. They have a couple others that...
all of a sudden, I noticed that my adult female is laying on her side and cannot stand when I try to stand her up. What could this be? She is in a wire floor rabbit cage with another younger female. The adult was born in March. please help
no, just straight vertical wire with the pull out tray underneath. Was going to put a piece of foam shelf liner on part and a sand box inside as well. Hoping it will be ok for their feet. I am such a spaz over these silly birds
I keep my Coturnix inside as pets and am needing to separate. I have a rabbit cage that I wanted to use that is about 1/2 inch wire and I am reading that that seems to be ok, but it is all vertical wire on the bottom.....not a grid. Is that ok too?
so the X will only be on the left or right, not front or back? always keep them point end down? and when it is time to remove the tray, is it ok by then if they just lay on their sides on the rubber liner?
ok, I will separate them then. She is not injured at this time, but don't want her to have a hard time. I have one other chikc that is about three or four weeks now.....will the female pick on it? I was thinking of trying to introduce them soon. I realize if it turns out to be a male...
So, I just ruined 74 coturnix eggs, heartbreaking, I know, but I am not sure what I did wrong. I at least got two out of my first batch of fewer eggs. There is a good chance that a lot of these eggs might not have hatched anyway as I got them from someone else and it is hard to say how long...
I want to piggy back off of another thread regarding bullying. I have a mated pair of coturnix which are definitely the same age. At first the bullying was extreme with the female becoming bloody and raw. I separated for a short time but kept them close so that she could heal. Now he often...
I have a turner in my incubator and am wondering if it would be better for the chicks if I remove the turner on the 14th day and place eggs on a towel on top of the rack? I thought this may be better for the hatchlings trying to walk around on the turner, but I am concerned that it will...
