Hi I have an extremely aggressive 3 year old rooster. I hand raised him from the egg myself, saving him from certain death. I am very emotionally attached to him. I also hate him. He has attacked several people including myself. I have tried almost everything I can think of- ignoring his...
Not to direct attention off of this post, but I wanted to ask you to elaborate a bit more on what a knee deformity would look like/how to tell. I stared a thread earlier today... and now that I read your comment I wonder if that is the probelm with my chicken. (She has a very crooked beak that...
Poor thing! Luckily she was saved in time! As for the wounds, I don't think yellow is a good color for a healthy, healing wound- but I am no expert. Maybe clean the wounds with an ointment the vet gave you... did they? If not, I would use tea tree oil or something that isnt too harsh to help...
My chicken is about 3 months old and she has been limping for about 5 days now. Her knee (if that is the proper term) is swollen and she doesn't put much weight on that leg. She mostly lays down, but occasionally limps to move a foot or two then lays back down. I have pretty thoroughly looked...

I have Red Jungle Fowl mixes, who go broody often. Now that it has been warmer here in New Mexico, I allowed them to sit on their own fertilized eggs. I am not worried about them...
I heard that there is a Bantam breed? Or is that another name for a "mutt?" And I figured that they were probably a mix of different breeds. They all are now about 3 1/2 months old, and the one that you said looks like a roo crowed for the first time this morning! Thanks for the reply!
I raised these otherwise feral chickens from eggs in Oahu, HI. Their mother abandoned their nest and I couldn't find it in me to just leave them so I kept the eggs warm till they hatched. I raised them and they (and I) got really attached. So, I flew them home with me over 2,000 miles to keep...
