Buckeyes are really good cold weather layers and as far as foraging there known for mousing.... If they can stalk down a mouse a bug should be easy picking

Get a small nail and poke a hole in the top and bottom of a egg. Blow the yolk out and fill it back up with mustard and put it back in there with her... I broke some Buckeyes like this not long ago!!

I was talking to an ol' man a while back and he told me that if I do this and the legs kicked it was a rooster and if the dangle it's a hen... He said its best to do when they're around 2 days old.

I darkened the nesting boxes a bit more to encourage my white leghorns to lay in them. Aside from golfballs and fake eggs is there anything else that will help?
