    Metacam for hens

I have also started the wormer paste straight away. All other hens seem fine but have added vitamin to water before dusting tomorrow.

    Metacam for hens

Just an update. I used the metacam for the hen that got trodden on by the horse and she is improving so well, starting to put weight on it now more often. As for the girl with the curled toes, her owner (I'm a minder) dispatched her, there was sadly no Improvement. However complete panic now as...

    Metacam for hens

Ok super will give it a go. I haven't a clue how this syringe works with the rings on it. Just noticed It says each graduation per 2.5kg body weight (20mg/kg) for 9 days! Argh so confused! That works out much less than a chicken doesn't it? I am horrendous with math! Also can I administer...

    Metacam for hens

I can have a look in the store tomorrow and see if there is any panacur for poultry there. There's not much selection though. This says wormer for rabbits - 18.75% oral paste. It's a pre filled syringe that says each 5g syringe contains 0.94g fenbendazole. Unfortunately there isn't a dosage...

    Metacam for hens

No I don't think she's been wormed. I have some panacur paste here but it says panacur for rabbits? not sure it that would do her. She is eating and drinking superb at the moment. I haven't tube fed before no, but could probably try - I don't really have the equipment though and want to avoid...

    Metacam for hens

That's super. I have baytril oral solution here too but I want to hold off on it as I know in other animals it can be harsh on the stomach and it's more important I keep her hydrated and no more diarrhoea. I don't hold out much hope though, her toes are curled but she does have feeling in her...

    Metacam for hens

Thank you so much for replying! I have "Meloxidyl 1.5mg/ml" it says for dogs and I have Metacam 0.5mg/ml for cats. I think I'll go with the 0.5mg one for cats. I'm not sure if it's different between dogs and cats ingredients wise or if it's just the mg ratio!

    Metacam for hens

Hi Does anyone know which metacam a vet prescribes for hens? The one for dogs or the one for cats? Also possible dosage? I I am not sure which one to use for them or the dosage per kg. I know usual forum rules are that you can't give out that sort of advice, but if someone could even hint...
