Hi I realize this is an older post but I am in a similar situation right now with my 4 Isa’s. They won’t go after the older existing girls but are piranhas with my 2 new barred rock pullets. I have tried separating and slowly introducing them one by one back into the flock. While it did seem to...
I picked up these two barred rock pullets a week ago, they are around 16 weeks now, maybe 15 can’t remember. Anyway, the one has a tail that resembles a cochin tail. Both birds are the same size body wise, the one with the “cochin” tail has lighter barring coloring. (Not even sure if I’m...
It was like an orangey/brown/ yellowy color, all four chicks were exactly the same color could not tell them apart from one another. That’s what has me confused because all of a sudden this one now has a ton of white.
They all looked exactly the same when I purchased them. They’re starting to get coloring to their feathers and this one is mostly white. I will give it some more time.
So I got 4 at TSC, (3 pictured), they’re about 2 and a half weeks old now. The one in the first pic has all white wings and tail while the others have a lot more brown in them. The one in question is the same size as the others, legs are not thick and no red comb or waddles protruding yet...
Her crop feels like a squishy water ballon. Its noticeably bigger than the other hens. Im pretty sure i got it empty last night but this morning it was full again. And it was right before she went in for the night so i know she didn't eat or drink anything after i did it, except for that one...
Hello. I think my chicken has sour crop. She started to exhibit symptoms yesterday. I went on YouTube looked at some videos, tilted her head down and started massaging her crop and a lot of liquid came out. Only problem is, it started to come out of her nostrils too. Now I fear it's in her...
So does the pour on ivermectin also kill the adult worms along with the larve?
I already wormed with wazine. The next day i saw dead worms in their poop. So 10 days after the worming, i use the ivermectin? Did the one treatment of wazine kill ALL of the adult worms?
I know this is an old thread, but after you retreat them on day 10, do you have to treat them again? Or should the 2 treatments be enough to kill the worms? What about the larve? Will the wazine kill them also?
If you treat birds for gapeworm (safeguard), will you see any dead (or live) worms in the stool? And if so, how soon after treatment will you see them?
Also, does safeguard kill any other species of worm besides gapeworms?
Ok so I first grabbed one chick and showed it to her outside of the nesting box and she immediately came running down to get it. But then all the other chicks were left upstairs. So I took them down as well and put the food and water downstairs. Cleaned out the nesting area too. I have a feeling...
Ah, yes there are 2 unhatched eggs. Maybe I should just take them away? If I move the food and water, will she still continue to sit because of those eggs?
My broody hatched her 5 babies 2 days ago. She is in a rabbit hutch that was converted to a small run/coop with the box at the top for the (coop) part, and a ramp going down to the bottom where the dirt is. I have food and water in the coop part, which is not very big. Mom has not come off the...
We are on day 19 hear and I can hear peeping. Mama is the incubator and she has been pretty good at staying on the nest. Plus the temp has helped since it's summer.
