I asked because many people I work with have done it with success but I was looking for more input. We have no fox or coyote as there is a 4 lane highway that backs my property and a main road to my front. The most we get is a rough coon before it gets hit by a car.

Hey all -
I have a SEVERE tick issue, I mean bad. I want to add guineas to my property - but do not want to build them a separate shelter. I live in a wooded area, would they be okay on their own roosting in trees?
Well if he doesn't get his act together he's going to be fox food - because he's so petrified of my hens he refuses to go in the coop at night. Hope he catches on pretty soon!
There's a good Cochin breeder near Highland, NY. There are a lot of farm swap groups on Facebook you can join. There's a Svart Hona & Swedish Flower Hen breeder in Highland Falls, NY.
This is my new patridge cochin rooster. I got him from a local breeder who had a few too many roos. To my knowledge he's a pretty good example of the breed
Huh....that's interesting. I saw one of my EE hens attack her after she was injured, not sure if she is the culprit or not. I was thinking about getting a roo to establish some order in my flock and to add some protection
So, title says it all. My BO literally was scalped 2 days ago. This is the second hen that has had this injury, the first was humanely euthanized since her jaw was also shattered. I've posted in a farm group on Facebook and there have been many theories - another hen, a young hawk with crappy...
I have (2) D'Uccle pullets for sale or trade. Was sold as Cochin pullets, they are not so!! They are getting picked on ruthlessly by my hens so they need a new home!
Open to trades for standard sized pullets.

Ok guys, so I was sold these chicks as cochin hens. Was told they aren't large breed, but that's it. I'm guessing now that they're bantams since they are NOT growing. Any guessses?
There's someone on 44/55 in Clintondale that advertises chickens and ducks for sale. There's a farm in Walden that sells chickens. They advertise on Craigslist, they currently have roosters for sale
