it was easy for me to get because my neighbors owns his own biotech company. our vet also recommended using chloroform. after doing research i found the ether was a bit safer. not sure how hard it would be to get on the internet but i am assuming you may be able to get it from canada.

on saturday my husband and a neighbor performed crop surgery on one of our hens. her crop had become distended three weeks ago. i brought her to the vet and the vet thought something was stuck in the bottom of her crop and quoted us $400-600. for the surgery. we decided not to have the vet do...
it does not make sense to me either. my two weak birds seem to get everything. our most recent poo sample came back with large amounts of cocci. the vet recommended treating.

Most of my girls are 2-3 years old but I have two that are a little over a year old. When the young ones were little I had a cocci problem. I lost 5 chickens. Nothing seem to work. Since the two that...
My chicken vet recommends dosing without water especially if you want to make sure the chicken gets a full does to prevent resistance.

Thanks for the replies! Corid does not work with my flock (the cocci on my property have become resistant). When I have a poo sample come back positive for cocci I alternate between Albon, Baycox, and Sulmet. The poo sample from today is clear so the sulmet worked on the cocci but my girls are...
I used sulmet to treat my hens for coccidiosis. On day 5 of the treatment I had four out of six hens laying around instead of the usual pecking and scratching so i discontinued the treatment for fear of overdose. The last dose was on saturday evening. I am seeing no signs of improvement (they...

i am not a chicken expert but this sounds like my bird when she had coccidiosis. i used corid to treat her and she is back to normal. do you have an aviary vet nearby? we brought a poo sample to ours to make the diagnosis.
i have a buffy who is sick too. i think it is worms...
i am not sure if i am sold on the pour on either... even though i found a worm in mary's poo before treatment, i have not seen another worm from her or any of the other birds. this concerns me because i read that if you find a live worm then all of your birds probably have worms??
Zimectrin...
