My silkies have poop stuck in their feathers and won't clean themselves.
Hi, i have two black silkie hens who are around a year old, but recently, bit of time ago their poop started to get stuck in their feathers and smell more than my other chickens. We have been bathing them and we've wormed them, so i don't think it's worms. But, is this normal for a silkie hen or...- lisajmuir

she keeps her leg under her not sticking out to the side. the toes are not curled. her leg feels very hot so thats why I am thinking tendon or ligament. when she stands she holds it up with sometimes will push it forwards but noticed she does that when shes trying to balance herself. help need advice chicken with leg problem
So we have a chicken thats been with us since hatching so is very tame and my daughters favourite girl. her name is "eggy" ....10 days ago I noticed her limping badly. I figured she had jumped off the perch and hurt her leg. shes a chicken with the big hairdo. polish.... so is a bit blind...- lisajmuir

for now hes happy with his one female in another space in the avairy. my 9 year old daughter would never let me release him anyways. hes friendly..... but so is the other male. so for now they both are happy. -

Yes Corturnix quails. since seperating there is less fighting :)...... but the black n white male is brutal with the females when he wants "some" :( -

hi, no they are not buttons.... too big :) they are courtix quail. the female would often sit on a box in the corner for hours...... trying to get away from the hounding male whos only after one thing. I think because she stayed there and laid eggs...... she bsically kept them warm and they... -

hi there thanks for the reply. the quail in the picture is an older pic. his eyes fine now :) I have seperated the males so one has his female and the other has 2. they seem to be happier. but I think it will be best to find a home for one of the males so just have the 3 females and one... -

hi. no hawks as its got a roof n three sides all enclosed with wire as its an avairy. have 12 lovebirds in there too. chose qualis because they are smaller than chickens. they dont smell and they are really friendly with the kids. we do eat the eggs.... but they are very rich so too many...- lisajmuir

hi. have seperated the males now one has his female and the other has his two females. It definately wasnt a predator as my cage is wire and theres no way anything smaller than a worm could crawl in :). so think it was the other male that killed them.... or they died first and were pecked as...- lisajmuir

ok so i have 5 quails 2 males 3 females. so far they all have got along give or take a few bald bumbs!! but today I found 6 dead chicks scattered about the cage. (10ft x10ft avairy). I thought it was impossible for them to hatch young on their own!!!!!!! so was really sad to find...
