    Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

I'm going with hen. I have girls with large comb genetics too so I know how they keep you guessing. It may be the pics but I don't see any hackles coming in yet. The stance says I'm going to lay 3 eggs and go broody forever! :lau

    Cochin owners ??

Here are my new little ones 🥰The first pic they are 6 weeks old and the rooster is in the front. The hen is in the back so you can see a difference. You can already see his comb & wattles turning pink and they are bigger than hers. The second pic is him this week. My question for those who...

Has anyone made a proposal to change the Standard on dubbing combs?

This is why I am on the fence. Because you are also correct.

Has anyone made a proposal to change the Standard on dubbing combs?

Just getting started in the breed so I'm still on the fence about dubbing. I have "dubbed" roosters in the past due to injuries from fighting. I have even had to remove part of a large wattle on an Orpington. So I know that it is only mildly painful for them. I think they should make dubbing...

    Old English Game Bantam SOP

This page is giving me grief over posting the pics. This is their temp home until their new coop can be finished. It is an old Orpington coop so everything is way bigger than they are.

    Old English Game Bantam SOP

I just picked up a quad of wheaten OEGB at the Red Stick Poultry Show. I have never had them before but they are so amazing. I'm looking forward to learning more about them.

    Marans temperament? (MPC?)

I have my first Marans coming in from MPC too in march. I ordered Blue Splash. They are just so unusual looking. Glad to hear the roosters aren't too much of a problem.

    Rhodebars

Have you checked the feathers around the girls vents? I haven't had a problem with my Rhodebars having feathers interfering with mating. But I have to keep my Orpingtons trimmed around their vents.

    Rhodebars

Did you check your fertility? It could be as simple as switching the roosters to the other pen. The first thing they will do is run around & try to cover all the hens. I serve eggs every Sat morning to my family :) They get a good breakfast & I check for fertile eggs. It is strange for 2 incys...

    Rhodebars

This is Snickers. She is about 3 weeks old. She is a Rhodebar pullet & much darker than my original Rhodebars. I too like their personality & they lay circles of eggs around my Cream Legbars. Who like to quit laying every time it gets too cold or hot.

    Cream Legbars

And you are selling them to me when? :) How did you get the cockerels to carry 2 white genes? And they have no barring as adults? So they are difficult to sex? Not being different colors & all.

    Cream Legbars

Your kidding! Mislead by GFF, why that has never happened before . I have been told that the eggs were more blue in lines A & B. But that does explain how you were able to get whites. All the research I have done shows most coming from those 2 lines. And the Rees line roosters are just as...

    Cream Legbars

No apology necessary. They technically would be EE. But it seems to me that since I am dealing with the genetics of a Cream Legbar then this thread would be appropriate. There are people here who understand more about the CL genetics than some "experts" spouting letters & inaccurate info on...

    Cream Legbars

I have no intention of selling them. And if I did they would be as what they are, mixed OEggers. I am sad yo would think otherwise:(

    Cream Legbars

I have had issues with the CL roosters too. Best one I had hated me . He ender up being culled . What I find interesting is the barring pattern appears the same in both roosters but different in the pullet. These are the crosses. CL/RB. I plan to cross them RB/CL to see if there is a difference...

    Cream Legbars

This is interesting. I have crossed my Rhodebars to my Cream Legbars & I am waiting for eggs from the pullet. I was expecting an OE. So some of the F2's will lay brown eggs? Any way of predicting which? Color maybe? I crossed them to get a year round egg layer & better shell quality on the...
