Electrified Fence and Silkies and Call Ducks

I have not. I have a backyard flock, and the poultry netting is more suited to my needs.

Electrified Fence and Silkies and Call Ducks

I have the premier 1 poultry netting. The ducks learned as ducklings to stay out of it. Their baby down had them get shocked a few times, but otherwise after that they stay away from it. The chickens touch it a few times, sometimes just on accident (maybe more if they're not the brightest of the...

Help ID this chicken please and is it a roo or pullet? Any ideas? Thank you!

Definitely a Dominique. Dominique Barred Rock Their Barring is fairly identical (to me) - they feather slow and get crisp barred markings. Their combs are very different, however. Doms have Rose combs and Barred Rocks have Straight combs

Help ID this chicken please and is it a roo or pullet? Any ideas? Thank you!

The comb doesn't look like a straight comb from these angles. If it's not a straight comb, it'll be a Dominique.

What gender is this 11-week old white leghorn?

Is it a modified pea comb?

TSC Olive Eggers & “Americanas”—any idea what color these chicks will be?

Is she one of the Easter Egger pullets? She makes me think of a Starlight Green Egger.

    Mean ass moma

Some hens are NOT meant to be moms despite their hormones telling them otherwise (just like with people). Some hens are excellent moms and others sit the whole 21 days before committing infanticide on every single hatchling they hatch. A neighbor had a bantam hen who would sit like a champ...

I'm not sure if he's just dirty but I think I might see some more gold towards his rear end?

How many generations for plumage coloration

Hello again!! Sorry to pester but I was looking at a teenager grow out (the same blue chick above actually) and was wondering if I'm seeing Barring in their gold hackles. If it *is* Barring, would BSF2 be his mother? The Blue Copper Marans is still dad.

    who is my momma?

Thank you for getting back to me!! I was thinking Brahma too but the chicken calculator thing is throwing me for a loop. This color combo doesn't show up at all but I guess there's lots of variables and what's hidden underneath everything, or what lineage made the bird before it. I didn't...

    who is my momma?

Hello! I hatched a chick who started solid blue but now has some gold leakage, specifically on his head. The dad is a blue copper marans. momma hens are any of these; The chick in question; There's also this little weirdo - she has black popping up but also red?? I'm wondering if my buff...

On the topic of Easter Eggers... *Generally Speaking*...

This is some crazy luck 😂 lots of girls for lots of eggs.

    Opinions?

I've been debating on a few birds for the same reason. They make my others panic and flighty for no reason. They're 2-3 years old and they get spooky for no reason other than 'because.' I have a few hens I need to get rid of. I might give them away to someone wanting laying hens - they still lay...

    Wyandotte show-off

Sorry to double respond but if you decide to go the Facebook route ONLY do cash exchange and meet. There's so many scammers on Facebook that ask for money via cashapp or PayPal and lie. Make a date and tell them you'll meet them at a public space.

    Wyandotte show-off

If you have Facebook, check for local or county poultry groups. I'm in multiple for Oklahoma and find good deals. I found this just by googling

Three hens? Three Ameraucanas, or are they EE?

This is per the Murray McMurray website I think it's good to have some sort of distinction between EE Ameraucana and APA Ameraucana. Murray McMurray spells it Ameraucana - but newbies wanting to get into show or specific varieties would be disappointed with a hatchery quality EE Ameraucana.
