I was just curious! I am sure we live too far apart but I have 3 geese. 1 Male and 2 females.. the lone female is a pitiful sight. She is wanting a mate so badly that she is trying to pair up with my pekin drake and he has NO interest in her and she seems to get on his nerves! LOL I am in Georgia.. -

Incubation and hatch day problem
I have a bit of a problem. I have a friend that is going through a family crisis so she brought her incubator over to my house to hatch her eggs for her. Hatch day is tomorrow, 12/01/16. I have been searching high and low, locally, for either turkey poults or hatching eggs.. ZERO luck.. anyone have any idea how I can get my hands on some? I even looked at a few of the hatcheries where you can order them and NONE! UGH.. I need new ideas!- cajuntc74

7th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2016 Hatch-A-Long
I guess I am not going to be able to participate! .. I have two ducklings trying desperately to hatch and they are in my incubator..I have 10 eggs to go in today but they will have to wait. Gotta see if these babies are going to survive first.- cajuntc74

Maybe you can Google "Duck Nesting Boxes" and search images. Then you can see all different kinds that people are using and decide then what would work best for your babies. There are so many different ways to set those up. I bet if you ask 100 people you would get 100 different answers. I have... -

It was a LONG night... just like she warned it would be.. but it was well worth it. I think I have 3 more healthy babies to show for it.. if I could I would give her one! Or two...lol.. maybe all of them! Or a least a big bouquet of flowers and a thank you card..You both have been so helpful to... -

Ok...last update before my much needed nap! All the babies are egg shell free! They are all doing well and resting. They are weak but getting a little stronger. Biggie is preening himself and is starting to look very fluffy! The others are just resting.. once in a while they nip at the fluff... -

Those other 2 eggs in the back! THEY ARE IN TERRIBLE SHAPE...the babies are still moving around but WOW they are about an inch from the air sac and when they move it looks like they are trying to swim in syrup....One of the eggs has a nice air sac.. the other..the air sac is only about the size... -

Ok.. sorry .. it is pouring down rain and I had to go cover the ducks food before it started raining sideways! The last 50lb bag got ruined from getting rained on.. Ok.. so I will clean that up! How cool.. I have 2 boys so far.. not sure about Trouble yet.. I will get that cord cleaned... -

Ok so ... smiley is still in toting her egg around..that cord is very thick but it is black and I just can't see what the heck is going on with that.. I will take a picture in a minute..there are 2 white specks right where that cord goes into it's rear.. I am guessing those are tiny specks of... -

Ok...update..Trouble is working very hard to rid himself of that egg shell. The blood is going from that cord and it looks like he should break free from the egg at any time. Biggie is doing MUCH better. He is trying to stand up and walk around. Smiley on the other hand...there is so much old... -

I do not think these are healthy babies at all...Biggie is the only one out of the shell and he is breathing ..but just laying there. He looks so frail. Trouble is still in the cup sleeping and Smiles is still attached to her egg and moving around.. just very tired still I guess. By this time...
