How'd the brooder work out?? In the future, you could put a bit of hardware cloth to block off the bulb but also still provide heat. Plus, it will serve as a heat sync conserving more of the heat.

Appps, they are on flake pine shavings. I had paper towels down, but it got gross really quick in there, so I had to change it out at least once a day and it was stressing them out quite a bit. So I switched to pine shavings. I have a red brooder lamp, so only light they get is from garage windows.
