Hi, TRaeH! I'm new, too, but I only just found BYC a few days ago and don't have any chickens yet. I'm in the planning stages. What a fun read your post was, I can picture your "flock", including kids and pups, and the pups partly because I have a Boston too named Alfie who I'm sure will be a...
I came straight over on seeing Agatha's photo on the front page. That expression, so cute and comical. She should have a children's book written about her, and you're just the one to do it!
Hi, NickyNack! Thank you so much for the greeting! I am finding so much information here. Loving all the photos and descriptions and stories. Folks who keep chickens seem to really enjoy talking about them, and that's great for somebody just starting out. :) I'm sure we'll meet again!
Hi, Tiki Chiki! Was great to see those "portraits" of each bird in your flock as well as read the descriptions of their personalities. Welcome and hope to hear/see more about their adventures in the future. I'm new too and haven't any chickens yet as I'm still in the plotting and scheming stage...
TXchickmum (Post #5): It's been two years since you posted these pictures of your chicken coop made from a garden shed, but I am commenting just in case you will still see how helpful and inspiring your photos are even now. I have been looking at garden sheds and wondering how to use the...
Hi, SAE FFA!
Loved reading your enthusiastic introduction post. :) Good to see you here! I'm new, too, but you are ahead of me as you have some chickens already and I'm still scheming about them!
Congratulations on the eggs. Here's to many more and healthy, happy times for you and your...
Hi, CherriesBrood! Thank you for the welcome, I appreciate it. Right now I'm reading everyone else's questions and the answers they get. Maybe one day I'll know enough that I can help somebody else. I am looking forward to that!
It happens I stumbled across that site just today and spent quite awhile looking at all of the breed descriptions. It's a good place to go for breed info and it has a lot of other info as well, like coops and food, etc.
Thanks for posting this!
Just thought I'd jump in and send you all a quick hello and let you know that I'm rifling through your forums and having fun doing it! I've got a strong desire to set up a backyard coop in the spring. I live in a suburban neighborhood and would like to raise and care for half a dozen layers...
Hi, Blooie. I just wanted to hop in here and thank you for posting those pics of your chicken run. The construction of your run is a revelation to a new-to-chickens peep such as myself. I will be adding this idea to the top of my list of potential ways to go. I am scheming to get my first little...
