Decided I couldn't wait as I've watched her - she would have a 1/4" sticking out
and when I felt last night (before I got my nerve) felt that it continued in quite
a ways- so did a 'manual' enema tonight. Lots of
really crystalline stuff! I brought her in sleepy (only way to go!) and threw...
My girl is only about 4 months old and constipated (haven't watched enough to know about the others...) - so going to give her a good soak tonight, pry out what I can and try the molasses?
But what causes that - they're on regular crumbles now, occasional ACV dab in the water, with some

Thanks to you who have chimed in! She was a happy flock member until 2 days ago.
I'm in Colorado - and always do the heat lamp because mid-winter we get pretty cold. My girls are spoiled so it kicks in at about 42 degrees.
I'd check on the nest, but afraid if I scare her she's just going...
My little flock of 6 (free-range/front yard) was fine until two days ago. One disappeared, thought she was dead for sure, but she comes out for lunch, then back into hiding in the juniper. OK for now until it gets colder, but she should be back in the coop with the heat lamp!! Don't know if a...
