My Bantam hen is cold and shocky

I have a three year old Bantam hen, she went through a really hard molt this fall and despite extra protein in her diet (and extra treats on the side) it took her a long time before she finished. She finally grew her feathers back although all the missing feathers grew in white(she is black and...

Help! Some thing took a bite out of my hen!!

Thank's so much! She's gotten much better. The wound has stayed clean and healed beautifully, the scabs come off on it's own and her feathers are almost all grown back. It's starting to get cold out so we're gonna wait until all her feathers are back before we put her back with the rest of the...

Help! Some thing took a bite out of my hen!!

I didn't know about the apple cider vinegar, thats a neat trick. We got some packets of electrolyte and probyotic powder...

Help! Some thing took a bite out of my hen!!

I was letting my chickens free range in the yard yesterday and last night when I went to lock my flock up I noticed that my hen Carmel was missing. This isn't like her, generally she's the first in the coop at the first sign of dusk. My father and I looked for her for almost and hour and we...

    MARYLAND THREAD!

Yeah, we made a small bachelor pad for two of the roos. Maybe we'll switch it out and put our hens in the pad instead. Our hens are a Red Ranger and two Bantam so they would fit well in there. Thanks so much, I appreciate the help :)

    MARYLAND THREAD!

Well they were all raised together since they were chicks. The ones we intend to keep are very close and have a good pecking order figured out ( figuratively speaking). The other four are constantly trying to climb the ladder which is where a lot of the conflict comes from. It's funny but it...

    MARYLAND THREAD!

Hello!, Im in Southern Maryland ( La Plata) very new to the site, and only slightly less new to raising chickens. My father and I purchased some straight run chicks last year hoping that we'd get a decent number of hens. Turns out not so much as seven out of the ten were roosters. Now we...

    Hello everyone!

I have two Bantam's Merry and Pippin , two Wyandottes, the tweedle's, Dee and Dum. Three Red Ranger's, Carmel, Rocket and Ruby. A Jersey Giant named Ro, and two white plymouth's Snowball and Hagar. Unfortunately seven of the ten are roosters but they're hilarious.
