It's been given nutri-drench, electrolytes, and a little rooster booster poultry cell. It refuses to eat anything I offer it, including hard-boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, yogurt, and honey.
I have a little broiler chick I found at TSC that couldn't walk so I took it home Thursday. It's doing much better now, it can stand and will run for short distances before it plops down and drifts off to sleep. It very well may be a Cornish x but who knows. Anyways - it just sits there 90% of...
I'm very aware, but I don't have any options other than to keep it active and give it lower protein feed and keep it on a diet. I'll check that link out
Hi everyone, how heat tolerant are Cornish cross meat birds? It can get up to 115 F here in South Carolina on the worst days but averages around 90 F in the Summer here. Can a Cornish X survive this heat if it has shade and maybe a fan in the insulated coop? I accidentally ended up with a what...
I got it from tractor supply since it was just limp on its side in there and being pecked to death. It's been a day and it's doing better but it can only walk for short bouts. It's fluff on its back is sparse and coarse. I love this little sweetheart and I really want to help her.
It's...
Thank you! I will do that for her. She still cannot walk like a normal chick can and she will take a few steps then get tired and fall asleep. I minced the scrambled eggs into a mush but she wouldn't go for it. I got her to eat a tiny bit of plain yogurt too.
I went to TSC to get shavings but stoppped to look at the babies where I saw a standard chick was in with a few bantams and it couldn't walk well at all and was just laying there with the other babies pecking it's eyes. I talked to an employee about taking it and she agreed and was glad it was...
I used permectrin ii on them and on the coop and run. It killed the nits but apparently some adults lived and restarted their little colony :/ I treated everyone (and treated again exactly 2 weeks later) but I think I'll use something else this time around
I'll tell you what she says. I haven't treated anyone because I can't for sure tell if it's worms, respiratory infection, virus, etc. I want to figure out what it is so I can knock it out ASAP. I have little juveniles in the flock and I want to make sure they don't come down with anything.
