    What breed is this?

Is there a way to tell the sex once they are older? Like drakes are more quiet in ducks and the ducks quack. Is it similar for geese?

Definitely geese. We breed Muscovy and definitely not one of them.

    What breed is this?

Hi guys! New to geese (just got 2 yesterday) and I’m wondering what breeds I have. They were hatchery choice at my local feed store. I suspect the darker one is a Saddleback Pomeranian and the yellow one is a White Chinese, but I’m not sure. I don’t know which hatchery they came from so not...

Duckling looking to ceiling and falling over

Sorry I’m just seeing these. She’s improved some as she doesn’t fall backwards as often now, she’s able to catch herself some of the time. Still stargazing, but not as bad. I’ve upped the B Complex cattle injectable from 150mg of niacin per gallon of water to 300mg in that same amount. I’m not...

Duckling looking to ceiling and falling over

It’s a liquid and I’m adding 150 mg of it to each gallon of water. It’s 1.5 mLs I’m adding but 150 mg in that amount.

Duckling looking to ceiling and falling over

Looked at label again on niacin and it is a b complex supplement. Ducklings are getting 18% chick starter with 20% mixed in as well as mixed greens.

Duckling looking to ceiling and falling over

We have 3 welsh Harlequin ducklings we hatched in our incubator about a month ago. One of them has started always looking up and then falling over. They are eating an all flock feed with 20% protein and get niacin 100mg/gallon of water ever since they hatched as well as various leafy greens...

Muscovy hen pushing eggs out of nest

Since chicks are used to low humidity and I usually increase ducks to 70% for hatch, what do u suggest? Turning is obviously done with now too. That Muscovy is lucky I love her and she’s pretty. She’s been a real pain in my you know what this past week!

Muscovy hen pushing eggs out of nest

Yes, verified by candling. What do I do about the humidity since my chicken eggs and duck eggs are at different stages of development and have different requirements? ‍♀️‍♀️

Muscovy hen pushing eggs out of nest

She pushed another out tonight. It’s internally pipped. In bator now with the one she pushed out last week and that one is doing well. I have chicken eggs in bator and they are due to hatch in 6 days! What the heck do I do with humidity?!? Obviously I turned egg turner off, but chicken eggs...

    Hatching SOS

She has rolled 4 out of 6 eggs out of the nest over the last week.ast one she rolled out was about a week ago and it’s in my incubator and progressing normally. Checking on her tonight and she rolled another out. This one is...

Muscovy hen pushing eggs out of nest

First time broody Muscovy has been sitting on eggs for close to a month now and suddenly pushed out 2 eggs from the nest this morning. Those eggs had live ducks in them so I popped them in my incubator. Went out tonight and she had pushed out another. Egg was cold and I thought duckling was...

    External pip BELOW air cell

3 have hatched and 2 left to go. The one that pipped externally below the air cell on the opposite side of the egg, kicked out of the shell around 4am this morning. Still had yolk to absorb so I tucked her back into bottom of egg and put her in a cup. That was 12 hours ago. She’s not made...

    External pip BELOW air cell

Yes, many of you have helped me in the past and I’m so grateful.

    External pip BELOW air cell

They haven’t done anything on their own and seemed distressed, so I opened shell up over their bills and they seemed much happier. Still acting like they are absorbing yolk, so I’m in no hurry now that they all have at least a safety hole.

    External pip BELOW air cell

Thanks everyone! I opened up a hole in the membrane and ducky seems most appreciative. Chirping now and still taking in the yolk. Opened up a safety hole in my other egg and an additional egg which had internally pipped over 24 hours ago. All 3 doing well. Have a 4th egg which is almost...

Should I use tweezers or what do I use? Don’t want to hurt the little guy.
