How's she doing? I'm dealing with a similar thing, one of my 5 month old olive eggers sits like that a lot but is walking fine. One of her sisters was attacked by the other hens last weekend and died a couple hours later, but I am sure something was wrong with her that caused them to attack her...
#1.. Maybe a roo, #3 & #5 look to be roos. The silkie comb looks too narrow (yet) to be a roo.
Amberlinks are sex links, so pretty sure they're girls. Silkie has a narrow comb that (right now) looks like a girl. The last one is a boy. The black one , I'm not sure..but leaning towards boy.
I have 8 chicks, ranging from about 5/6 wks to 8/9 weeks. These are the oldest ones. The light one is a blue birchen marans and the brown is a blue barvenelder. The comb/wattles on the Barnevelder are smaller but a little redder than the marans. The marans doesn't act at all rooish, "she's"...
Well, that sucks, but I pretty much knew it was a boy a few says after I brought him homewhen he was a week old. How old are slw cockerels before they start crowing? All the other roos I've grown were so obviously roosters by now.
Is there any chance this is not a cockerel? It's a 12 week old hatchery chick. it has never shown any roostery behavior, but is very skittish and unfriendly. I don't see any saddle feathers or hackle feathers coming in.
I got this one from a feed store, on April 29th,so it's a hatchery quality. It's about 8-9 wks in the pics. As soon as I got it home as a chick I noticed the comb seemed wide and thought, crap, leave it to me to pick a boy out of a bin of sexed chicks. It started to get a pinkish tint to its...
I picked her up and her neck is kind of twisted. You can't notice it to look at her, but I can definitely feel it. I guess that's why she's asking so scared, she kniws she's vulnerable, I guess. She's back I will the house on rooster booster.
I put her in with my 11oz serama this morning, the serama chased her around the pen, which is about 30 x 10 ft, she ended up hiding between the wood fence and the little coop, wedged in there. What is wrong with this bird?
OK, I posted 1 1/2 weeks ago about my 4 month old EE pullet to that was all fluffed up and lethargic and wobbly. I didn't know what was wrong with her so I treated her with VetRX, corid, tylan50 and finally, rooster booster in her water for the last 3 days. The symptoms have disappeared, she...
Oh yeah, I'm quite familiar with it, lol.
I took her out of her cage when I got home, she had another normal poop. She is acting more alert and "normal", pecking away at her food and preening, but she just doesn't have her balance. Sometimes she has to use her wings for balance if she isn't...
It looked like every cecal poop I've seen. Brown, soft and stinky and the "normal" poop right before that was about as normal a poop as I've seen. I think she was holding it, because she pooped 3 times in 5 min. As soon as I put her on the floor.
Yes, for the last 4 days. I took her out yesterday to see how she was moving, she pooped 3 very normal poops. She is still kind of wobbly and not right. But she's eating and drinking and preening herself. I never did see any abnormal poop, so I don't even know if she had/gas cocci.
She's had corid in her water for 3 days and has had 4 shots of tylan50. She isn't as fluffed up as she was when I brought her inside, and she is eating and drinking. Her poop is normal. No sneezing or wheezing. But she's still wobbly and keeps her tail down. It's obvious she isn't well, but I...
That's the thing, other than being all fluffed up and lethargic, she has no symptoms. At least with my Cochin, she was sneezing and cooing like a dove with her mouth open, so I knew (sort of) what was wrong... I don't know what kind of antibiotics to get for this.
