Help!! Twelve broilers died in one night... what's going on?

Yeah, I'm figuring that out. ;) The wire is a great idea! I'll have to try it. I also have a big barn fan from a friend I'm going to set up so they get a breeze.

Help!! Twelve broilers died in one night... what's going on?

Thanks guys. That's what I thought. If I do another batch in the heat of summer like this I'll do a smaller batch and process sooner and provide more shade, etc. ;) I'm learning a lot!

Help!! Twelve broilers died in one night... what's going on?

This morning I went out to my chicken shelter and found twelve dead birds inside. Here are the clues... any ideas about what the cause was? What should I do so it doesn't happen again? I had 74 cornish cross that were 8 weeks old. There was a heat index of about 95 degrees F yesterday. They...

    Customer base

Hey! I'm new to the poultry-selling arena, but here's my story and how things are working for me. I've raised and sold my whole batch of 74 meat birds, and will be processing them next weekend. They sold super fast and I think I'll be starting a waiting list for those who didn't get birds...

Thanks. Yes, I'll be keeping my eyes open for any kind of sink/table combo like that! Sounds awesome.

Killing, Plucking, Eviscerating, & Cutting Up Your Chicken - Graphic!

Hey! I'll be processing my first batch of broilers next Saturday and Sunday, and I'm getting all my equipment around. I have a scalder, plucker, cooler, and several large tubs for cold/ice water. But I don't have killing cones or a stainless steel table for cutting the birds up. I've seen videos...

    Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

So I started my Cornish Cross chicks right off on FF, and they loved it. They're over 2 weeks old and I've only lost one out of 79! However, I still can't figure out how to strain the liquid off the feed in an efficient manner. My feed has chunks of grain in it, but there's also a lot of coarse...
