I am wondering how long the average hen lays. how long do your hens lay, (this question is for anyone to answer)

Thanks for the feedback! do you have any places that you like? and does anyone else have any places they would like to suggest?

the climate can be wet and dry(mostly wet I'd say). we get lots of rain, and a fair amount of snow. I would not say we get a ton, but kind of a lot. as for wind, we have a few small trees, not many houses and buildings, we have a few small stores, but not much.

I am thinking of buying from Cackle hatchery, has anyone used them before, and if so, can you give me a review?

The climate can vary, pretty hot summers and very cold winters. one of the reasons I chose Easter Eggers. as far as I know, they are cold and hot hearty.

oh, also, once I get the zoning thing worked out, I can only probably have around 5 chickens. so it may end up being less than 6 chickens. but i think I am going to plan for the 6, just in case.

fist of all, the handy man is part of my family, so no money spent there! and the run is 10' x 40' x 6' high.

ya, I guess I meant "good enough" when I said "perfect."well, I am looking for a coop that can fit up to six easter egger chickens. I have a large, secure run (was used for a dog run apparently) and I was thinking of putting the coop inside the run, so safety in the coop is not soooooo...

also, (if possible) can anyone post a pic of their coop? I would like some ideas

By the way, does anyone have any chicken coop suggestions? I am looking for the perfect one! and any feed you really like, I haven't found any good brands so far.(representing lots of looking...)
