Could these two actually have hatched the same day and be the same breed?

Yeah. It's a silkie. The red photo was for size.

Could these two actually have hatched the same day and be the same breed?

I got the answer: it's a silkie! I finally got in touch with the lady I got them from... and then I confirmed with the toes! Should have checked the latter earlier. But now I know.

Could these two actually have hatched the same day and be the same breed?

Got these from a local person... was very excited to get bantam Cochins (they're just honestly too cute). One is about a week older than the others and the 4 are supposed to be two weeks old on Saturday (so 12 days in these pictures). One is definitely a large fowl. I noticed that when I picked...

Would anyone be interested in potentially going in on a cackle hatchery order with me? Still deciding what to do, but I can't have 15 more myself!

Preparing Your Flock & Coop for WINTER

Thank you for this post, fellow south carolinian. I have only been here one winter before and this is the first with chickens. Makes me feel better about my plans (close a known drafty area or two with clear plastic and monitor water). Do you have electricity to your coop already? If not, how...

    Howdy from Clemson!

Just picked up 5 babies (3 buff orpingtons and 2 barred rocks) yesterday from our local tractor supply! I'm very excited to get going on coop design and construction (or "coop-struction" as I've been calling it) and to start my mini farm! If anyone has any great coop wisdom, I'd love to hear it...
