    10 months!! Wow, yeah I think mine would be soup by then ;) What sort of light do you put in a coop? I had a white heat lamp but it was too hot in there so I turned it off.

    haha they are starting to make some really loud noises now. I can only imagine 25 of them at once. My neighbour was supposed to take 8 but she has decided to keep hers for a while longer so looks like I'm stuck with 25 until she comes and takes them. ;)

    They have a fenced off enclosure. I've looked around in there but I guess I've never done a very thorough investigation. I have never seen any eggs out there... but it might be worth a look. This isn't the best picture but it gives you an idea. the coop is to the right.

    I was just feeding them a grower feed and just switched a couple days ago to a layer feed as per my neighbours recommendation. I have not been feeding oyster shells yet - I was going to start some of that too. I give them grit and also feed them squash and veggie scraps when I have them available.

    20 Week Old White Leghorns

    Yay!! I got my first egg this morning! The shell was soft and it was broken in the nest box but atleast I know they are on their way! I put a couple plastic easter eggs in the nest boxes yesterday and voila! 20.5 weeks old.
