    I haven't had and real issue with predators. My old run was just chicken wire and I didn't have any issues. Let's hope that luck keeps up. I'll probably re enforce it with welded wire a little at a time

    I've been using pine shavings durring the summer months. Should I switch to straw durring the winter time?

    I think it depends on the chicken breed on how fast they lay. Mine are leghorns and they usually lay once a day. I've been getting 6 a day. For some reason all 6 of ours use the same box.

    Yeah I'm regretting buying mine. I was in a rush and I'm paying for it now. I could have use the money spent and built a lot better one.

    I may use it for the summer. They have just now feathered out. I've seen some good ideas for coops made out of pallets. Plus I can get all the free pallets I want from my job.
