I'm in a very similar situation trying to add 11 six week old chicks with 4 five month olds. Since I am off tom. I am going to try to put them together and see what happens but hopefully they will get along okay. My question is now that the older ones are now laying do I feed them the baby...
These are my baby chicks from the Rainbow pullet mix from mypetchicken.com. They are about 2 weeks old. These are my first set of chicks so I have no idea what they are. Any ideas? Thanks
Thanks for all of the ideas. I was also thinking of planting some seedling pines along the coop and run to try to hide it as well. I post some pics when I get it finished
What type of top did you have when you had a 3' tall run? I really need to keep the run hidden as much as possible to keep the neighbors from complaining. The coop is up against a garage that is hidden but I am trying to figure out a way to make a reasonable sized run that doesn't stick out...
I got the call this morning at 5:15 that the chicks were at the post office. Here a few pictures that I snapped this morning of the babies along with my little helper.
So I am over flowing with eggs and peppers. Any ideas of what to do with them either together or separately. I really don't want to can the peppers but does any one know if you can freeze them? thanks
This is my first batch of chicks as well. I would have thought that they would have made it to VA in 1 day. Hope to get that call tom. and to see some pics of everyone else's new chicks.
No chicks yet. I called the post office and they had just got in their afternoon shipment and no chirping boxes. I guess I will have to wait until tom.
I also ordered the 25 rainbow pullet special that is supposed to ship tom. I can't wait! How long will it take to determine the breeds that I received?
I was looking for the same thing. I found this on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Designers-Edge-L-949-Rechargeable-Solar/dp/B0013HPNRY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1252889285&sr=8-2) but I don't know if this is enough light or how to incorporate a timer. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
