    Morning #2.

Morning #2 for my 3 girls. Princess Laya, the leader of my flock, showing Black Betty & DixieChick how to walk down the ramp to a glorious breakfast.

    First night jitters.

Thanks everyone! My morning was probably the most stressful I've had in ages. All over 3 CHICKENS. What has gotten into me? I messaged my neighbor to go see if they had left the coop before lunch. Nope. Still in the coop. I'm sure hungry & thirsty. He went & looked again after lunch & BOOM...

    First night jitters.

HAHAHA very little @PirateGirl. Woke up at 1am. Finally back to sleep around 3. Back up at 5, waiting on daylight. Ugh.

    First night jitters.

They have lots of shade. But I don't want them to be hungry or thirsty either. I figured Mother Nature would eventually kick in & they would find the ground & start looking for food.

    First night jitters.

Sorry, I didn't complete my post a few ago. The coop is shaded & the run is partially shaded. I will try to get home & see what's happening.

Do the hens put their nests together?

No. No feed or water in the coop. Only in the run.

    First night jitters.

Good morning. Thanks guys & gals for your posts. The girls survived the night. Win #1. HAHA I opened their pop door at first light this morning before I left for work. I waited around awhile to see if they'd come out into their run. When I left, they were still inside the coop. It's now 9:15...

Do the hens put their nests together?

Thanks guys & gals. My wife & I are coming into this with low expectations. With the stress of the move, cooler temps, & shorter days, I'm really not expecting much from my new hens. At this point, my goal is to just keep them alive. Hopefully by spring they'll be warmed up to us & their new...

    First night jitters.

I'm a brand new chicken owner. So new, I got my first hens today around 2:00. They belonged to my boss. They weren't intergrated correctly to his flock, so he decided to give his newest 3 to me & he returned to his original flock of 7. He told me these 3 were very standoffish from his...

Do the hens put their nests together?

Yes. Boxes. Well, crates to be exact. I'm going to add more material & let them sort it to their liking when they get ready to lay. Thanks y'all

Do the hens put their nests together?

This afternoon I get my first ever 3 chickens. They're full grown & laying, moving from one farm to my farm. Their tractor & coop is ready for them. I've bought & put nest pads down in the nests. I've placed hay in the floor area of the coop. Should I put more bedding (hay) in the nests, or just...

Find Your State's or Your Country's Thread.

Interesting. Maybe the links just don't work. Surely Texas has some threads, so I clicked on it. Takes me right back to the general forum page. Any state I click on, takes me here (see pic).

Find Your State's or Your Country's Thread.

@aart Thanks for the welcome. Also thanks for the info. I clicked on my state (Arkansas) but it just takes me right back to the general Forums page. Doesn't link me to anything that is specific to my state. So, I clicked on Alabama, just to see if there was a difference, & the same thing...

I guess I'm looking in the wrong spot. I can't seem to find the individual states on the site. Can someone point a Noob to the States area. Thank you.
