Space per chicken / Door size

I have 5 hens in a 3x4x3 box with an enclosure that surrounds it that's 4x8 footprint and variable height. Actually, this wil be worth a thousand words: And they love it. I went with the 2-3 square feet in the coop and 4-6 outside run theory with mine, knowing that I'd install a lightbulb for...

    New tractor design questions

This looks like a really close example of what I use, here in CT. It works great for my 5 birds. It's a 4x8 footprint with a 3x4 box floor area. It's a it heavy, but can be moved short distances easily enough..

Three of Five doing well, but.. the other two are slackers.

Great news! Well, sorta. Thanks for the reply.. I was just wondering if there was something wrong with 'em.. and if there was still hope for some eggs. I'd still keep them, cause I like them just for who they are.. but was wondering if there was just such a thing as a lame chicken.

    A pic of mine...

Oh, ok! Here's a few more pics. I thought I took more than this during the build, but I guess I didn't. I could take some more of the thing as it stands today if anyone wanted to see somethign not pictured here. But, here's a shot of the frme when it was going up: Here's a pic of the double...

    A pic of mine...

Figured while I was on here uploading some other photo's, I might as well post a pic of mine as well. It's since grown a set of pneumatic tires in the back so I can move it about easier. Silly me to think I'd be able to drag this thing around the yard by hand with no wheels. It weights over...

Three of Five doing well, but.. the other two are slackers.

Hey all.. OK, I should have posted some pictures right off, so let's start again. Here's a sot of one of my known laying birds, inthis case, my biggest BR of the two I have: And here's a pic of the smaller one, with the whitish colored comb. It's not a great pic, but the darned bird kept...

Three of Five doing well, but.. the other two are slackers.

I wrote up a msg a while back on here about one of my BR's with a powdery white colored small comb and small wattles, and a RIR of mine also with small comb and wattles.. but no whitish colors like the BR. I have five chicks total, all 24 weeks old now. One of the RIR's layed her first egg about...

I'm not sure this is a problem.. but a powdery white comb?

Hey all.. I've got five chickens, my first ones. They're all just over 19 weeks.. two of them, the big ones, have beautiful dark red combs and wattles (no eggs yet..), but the other three, the smaller looking ones (by just a bit!), have smaller combs and wattles, and they're almost powdery...
