I knew when they began to feather differently that I most likely had two breeds. The partridge began laying a very pretty round pearly brown egg last week. It wasn't the dark brown I was expecting, so that was also confirmation. Love them either way!!
I bought these 2 as chicks and was told I was buying barnevelders. I think I may have 1 partridge as well!?
I love them, so pretty. She just began laying.
She was darker than my original wyandottes, which is why I picked her. I picked lighter ones last time and they all turned out to be Roos! Haha Fingers crossed it's a pullet, but that comb and wattles are worrying me.
The comb is making me question if it's a full SLW. I've had SLW cockerels and combs formed much differently.
I'm guessing this is a cockerel as well, but looks differently than my others.
Yes, it appears she/he will have a single comb. I'm really hopeful it's a pullet. She/he is very brave...
