My babies arnt suppose to touch the chicks unless im there but my older children have been doing this stuff for a long time, they helped raise our chooks and ducks very well. We arnt experts at all but have raised a few baby chicks and never experienced anything like this before. But we...
I live in qld australia. Thank you so much for this info, u have given me some useful information that i can use constructively.. I am thinking stress, wrong food and my babies.. The only major difference with these chicks then to previous is everytime i walked away one of my babies were walking...
Im trying to read all the comments, im pretty ****** that some are you are only interested in scorning me about where i got the chicks from and in that case did not read my post properly where i mentioned its not something i would usually do, i did not ask your opinion on my purchases i ask an...
Well i wont be doing that again thats for sure. I eventually want my chooks to become broody and hatch a few of their own but the issue is i have mixed chooks and my only rooster which im not exactly suppose to have is a silky lol, dont think i should mix breed .
This is not our first lot if chicks, as i said we never had this problem before. Heat lamp was new but was burnt and heated and all that stuff before use, we had a small amount of straw and pieces of a baby blanket for comfort, we had cooling off spots to go to.. They had no signs of anything at...
I bought 3 baby chicks from a pet store, usually i would buy from a local but kids saw them and well you know how it is, anywho they died, i dont know how or why, they had their heat lamp, water, food, comfy bedding all the above, they were walking around eating and happy then out of know where...

Hahaha now looking at that photo you commented on he does look rather funny from that angle but no that is not generally what he looks like lol it's purely just the weird photo angle..
No he was just nasty with me n trying to not let me touch him. I had not long finished bathing them and they were enjoying the heater while I disturbed them and poked at them to try and get photos. He is also extremely fluffy especially in the chest area. They did not come from the best of place...

Sorry for the late reply, for some reason I didn't get a notification
I'm not too sure what's happening with ur quail maybe she is having issues regulating her own body temperature from being so small.
My little quail is doing really great, small but great lol.
I can't breed her, she has bad feet, I'm worried she will have bad genes .. not sure if she is female or male yet, she looks female at the moment but my last quail went white to black / dark coloured with the male bibbing .. so just going to wait, I just sorta had it come to me the other day...
