    GameBird Gazette

The APWS bulletin is the one that I never get -- the APWS mag runs months behind schedule. Most of the APWS mag articles are reprinted directly from the internet. You basically pay a big fee for a bulletin with stuff you already see at various websites. APWS runs a lot of pictures of people and...

Whats it like raising Chukar Partridges???

Jackwelder your experience with the chukar taking up with the chickens is interesting. I have also had some chukars that were more resistant to diseases that affect chickens and poultry. And it depends on what the chickens are carrying, but usually best not to run them together as I think Toni said.

    Feeding chicks veggies?

I don't know about veggie scraps, but I feed finely chopped greens beginning first few days... I'm a believer in adding natural component to diet of quail and pheasant chicks, even though most commercial feeds (of the right type) should satisfy their nutritiona requirements...

    Broody chicken, Pheasant eggs

Years ago I used bantams to hatch pheasant eggs and it worked out well. It is a lot more work than incubators because you have to maintain the broody hens with a clean environment, fresh feed and water daily, etc. Otherwise you could end up with disease problems in the young pheasants... Hatch...

    Peach Golden Pheasants

Good points, Dan, I could never understand adding the word "Red" to Golden myself... Used to give me the feeling of something other than a normal Golden Pheasant... But I've gotten used to it and I guess it serves a purpose... I am pretty much with what you say on the mutations other than the...
