Good morning Granny, Twist, Wishing, Linda, Red, Banty, Light On, Kiki, Water Ratt, Star, and everyone else I missed.
Granny I wish there was something I could do to help ease your pain.
Red, glad to here you're feeling better, think I'll wait though for the Bar-B-Que visit. lol
Twist, just...
Sorry, it was taking so long to catch up I skipped a page or ten. Once I got to ten days ago I gave up and jumped to here. I hope y'all don't mind. Seen the pretty pics of the sunset and the thigh shot for Granny. Hope the kid was born without issue and is doing well. Wondering if the buffalo...
Finally back! Did you miss me? Never mind, I sure missed y'all! Question? Do baby roosters bump chests with chickens, or just pullet's? Are baby roos called Roos? I just can't 'member what Grand Dad called 'em.
What happened to steel sieve? hahaha Yes, I'm planning on it.
Well, I only wanted one more chicken, because we have 11 and I don't do well with odd numbers, unless it's by 5's (las). The lady said we couldn't have just one egg, because there was no guarantee they would be fertile, or develop...
Thank you Danna! I appreciate it. It's always warm fuzzy's, with a great support group here... although, I don't think there's any help for suffering from communititess. lol
Well, I've procrastinated long enough. I was supposed to start packing three days ago. Just washed the laundry last night, so I guess I best be tossing it in the dryer. I hope y'all have a terrific morning, day, eve... where ever y'all are!
Wishing, a friend of ours has chickens and she gave us 12 eggs, for our two little Serama broodies. Only five were fertile. This one hatched first, the second hatched, but died within a couple of minute and wasn't completely formed on back end. The third and fourth were 10 days past hatch and...
LOOK! I finally got a pic of the chick! Her name is Nike (Greek Goddess of Victory, since she is the only one to make it.)
No clue what she is though, other than a big chicken breed. I hope she is a female anyway.
That's a thought. I'm building a raised garden area in the chicken run, then putting chicken wire over the top, so the plants can grow up through but not get scratched out. Well, it would work in theory...
They get plenty of free fed calcium Granny, thanks to y'all here and my extensive reading. I read BYC for three months before I started posting. lol. Then I kinda just got stuck here. I hope y'all don't mind.
I've checked my girl for mites, etc. and she doesn't have any of those issues. Will pasty butt make them pluck their hind feathers? I've been noticing since yesterday that they're getting rather thin back there... but she's always had dirty hind feathers.
