First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

Ok glad to hear that although I will miss them since they were the first chicks I raised. I am giving them to a friend to do the deed I don't think I could eat them. But I will get over it and turn my attention to 4 new 1 wk old layers and start over. Thanks for the info.

First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

They are now about 9 wks old and around 12 to 14 lbs. I feel bad for them they seem to have a difficult time balancing and walking and will just lay down by the feeder and eat. Is this normal?

First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

I'm new at this so I hope my comment is in the right place. I'm an accidental cornish X owner, at what point are they ready to ummm you know...cook.

    Finally got me some chickens

I'm very happy to finally be a chicken owner! Recently moved to the country in Illinois and have started raising 4 cornish X (who will soon be ready for the cook pot) 2 Rhode Island Reds and 2 easter eggers which are only 1 wk old. I have tons of questions but first just wanted to say hi there.
