My 2.5 week ameraucanas from Deer Run Farms in Maryland . They are very sweet and people friendly. I ended up with 10 hens and one rooster. Very happy with them and worth the wait .
You could try a vitamin water and electrolyte mix . Your feed store should have it or in a pinch try some sugar water . I cup water to about two teaspoon sugar. Sometimes nature just happens and a chick does die . Don’t beat your self up . If Your other chicks are doing ok it’s not you.
I found a local breeder with good breeder stock of both of these. She has barnvelders of all colors and Swedish flower. I was just thinking Swedish flower but might get both. Please tell me everything you know about them. Are they sex linked ? Pics too if you got them.
I breed Ameraucana. What ever you breed join the organization. I know with ameraucana we give you a book let which goes over the genetics. It helps to know the breeders so you can share lines and information.
Any one do machine embroidery as a hobby or business? I bought a single needle machine last year and hope to get a commercial multi needle whitening two years. This year has been about experimenting with products and making things for family and friends. Just thought I create a thread to share...
As an ameraucana breeder, you don’t get rich on them. There are way too many people putting out Easter eggers and calling them true ameraucanas. Learn your genetics. Join the organization and work to improve the breed. I truly love the breed and all it offers . I only get quality chicks...
Lost my baby salmon favorelle. I was hopeful but saw this morning barely breathing and was gone an hr later. She was quite a bit smaller than the others even on arrival but I thought she just needed heat and some water. I’m glad they did me an extra chick but I only three favorelles left. I...
I added some molasses to the water and she has started to perk up a little. It’s 100 degrees in the brooder and she sticks close to the molasses water. So guarded but hopeful.:fl
All the chicks are thriving but one she is a bit lethargic. She is one of the salmon favorelles. I tried some vitamin sugar water my daughter who’s a vet tech mixed up so hopeful.
My chicks are going on 19 and 18 weeks. I believe this one is from an isa brown. I have some blue Plymouth’s, Australop and Easter eggers. Do I throw away the first one. I recently got back into chickens after a long hiatus and actually forget.:hit
The chicks are here! They arrived at 630 am at my post office! All alive and well with two extra chicks! Two extra French copper Maran. One is a male he was marked but I just lost my rooster here to a predator so it’s all good .
