Ooooh I just saw you already got eggs! Good luck!!!

I’m not planning on getting into breeding much with the eggs I got. I’ve decided on Barnevelders for breeding, I’m going to get hatching eggs in March! My 12x16 goat shed is about to be converted into a brooder room and breeding coops/pens.

I found one of my husbands work/ tactical flashlights and I just couldn't resist! Day 5 and of the shipped eggs only 5 out of the 22 I don’t see growth like this in!

I have a couple of the CCL eggs that are pretty dang white. Will chicks from these eggs be more likely to lay white eggs instead of blue?

They should still lay blue eggs. You can't tell if the parents carried white egg genes based on the intensity of the blue color. The color of the bloom and the amount of brown pigment on the egg can affect the intensity of the blue, so these eggs may not have any other pigments enhancing the color, leaving the base light blue shell color.

I breed Ameraucana. What ever you breed join the organization. I know with ameraucana we give you a book let which goes over the genetics. It helps to know the breeders so you can share lines and information.
