I recently had a broody chicken and i placed her in a dog crate with access to food and water. She was kept in the crate for 3 days. This routine seemed to snap her out of the broodiness.
Leaving for a wedding and my 5 girls are going to be cooped up in their run.
Considering this being my first time leaving them alone for days. Is there anything else i need to do other than the following:
• plenty of food and water supplied
• access to their roosting area for sleeping

Beautiful! I left the black tray that came with the dog kennel at the bottom. Going out today to upgrade her plastic tray to chicken wire.
And she was left in the cage over night.
Supplying water and feed. And cleaning up her cage 2 times a day.
Planning to take her out monday around noon...
I havent tried the ice cube in the nest. She was bullying the other girls from coming in the coop. So ive been removing her every chance i get. Quickly realizing it was a losing battle
