Feathers picked off and stressed meat chickens

For the two that did sad faces, there are only 3 out of 12 this has recently happened to. The others are fine. They just hit 8 weeks and I'd like to just do those ones today to be sure no more damage is done.

Feathers picked off and stressed meat chickens

I have a few meat chickens I'd like to kill off this afternoon that have been picked on by my ducks, the chickens are missing plenty of feathers and one so bad that I can see dry blood on its tail. My question may be a stupid one, but would you avoid eating a chicken that has been through this...

    Coop, is it secure enough?

I have the hardware cloth sandwiched between the two layers of galvanized, and I offset the galvanized by half to make the holes smaller again

    Coop, is it secure enough?

Just finished (hopefully) my turkey coop, I do have a few foxes around getting a chicken here and there unfortunately. I started with one layer of no climb galvanized, added a bird mesh and another layer of no climb to the walls, I have a chain link fence on the ground outside running the...

How do you stop predators from digging under?

I have a large fox who has snagged many chickens, I took a 200 yard shot over a week ago and think I missed, but haven't seen since. She will be back very soon if it just spooked her

How do you stop predators from digging under?

I will be buiding a Turkey run outside, likely starting today. I would still like the earth to be directly below the run but have it predator proof also. thinking about laying fencing and letting grass grow up between the links, or digging down a bit, how much? what are your tips and tricks...

How many sq feet per turkey?

Is your pen fully enclosed? Roof and all? Or do you lock them in a coop overnight? I have enough room, but not enough money to enclose an acre completely in, lol.

It's actually a half domesticated goose I was hanging out with while on vacation in Toronto with the family, he was injured and quite aggressive but we turned into buds, lol

    Too cold?

I'm sure it's been answered, but I'm not internet savvy, and only do online from cellphone out here. It's about-3 here in canada, and chickens could have laid up to 12 hours ago. Would it be ok to start thr eggs in an incubator still, should I wait for next weekend and check and collect daily...

Mine are between 3-4 months and getting loud/aggressive now, have about 8 that need to go this weekend, and more will follow I'm sure.

    Are all breed "meat birds"

I've got just a random mix of chickens and it's time to ditch the bulk of my roosters. If I cant find anybody who wants them cheap I'm gonna have to kill them, rather than feed a useless bird... I'd rather not kill senselessly, so wondering if all breeds taste the same, and are as edible as a...

    Do they ever shut up?

I stuck a block heater in front of the brooder and they calmed down some. It's much hotter outside here this time of year so I will put them in the side room for a while with a thermometer. Thanks.

    Do they ever shut up?

Maybe the heat, or lack of rather, they went in an hour ago at best, in an air conditioned home. I blocked off the duct to that room and have their lamp low. Will give it a while to hit temperature and see if they quiet down
