Just went out and measured and I think the roosting space will not be an issue. Now, one more question. Feed and water..inside or outside the house? The door to the run will likely be open all the time in the summer and opened in the morning and closed at night in the winter..do they need access...

In the end we will have no roosters as we live in town :(

Here is my dilemma...we currently have 9 chicks. Some are a barn mix and some are barred rock. They are only 3 weeks old..can we house all of them in there until we can figure which are roos? We know we have 2 or 3 hens for sure..the rest are a waiting game!

So if it 3 square feet per bird I am looking at about 3 chickens? They are barred rock so I am pretty sure they are the full size birds.

My husband built me a coop. The actual outside run is 6 feet by 12 feet. The house is 3 feet by 3 feet by 4 feet tall. How many chickens can I comfortably house without issues? We have three nesting boxes that are not taking up any of that space as well. Thanks!!

I need some help attempting to figure out if these are Roo's or Hen's if possible, they are still pretty little and some have a dark color on their legs but not their actual feet so I am finding it confusing to try and figure out. Any thoughts would be appreciated before my kids get too attached...
