Thanks for the info on the type of charger you use. I live in the lowest part of Texas, so I'll look to see if someone carries that or something similar in my area
Well, the coyote hit again...this time, it came into an area I have fenced in with 6' chain link and no signs that it dug under it. Howard, the info and pics will be a grett help. Time to go to the store and get what I need for this area
Howard,
UPDATE on Dottie--just an FYI
Dottie had a relapse a a couple days after my last post. I separated her from the flock again and this time her "treatment" lasted much longer before I saw results. I thought I'd share my experience to hopefully help others who may be "newcomers" and to show there...
Eggcessive, thank you so much for the valuable info you shared in such a quick manner. I really think Dottie recovered as soon as she did because I was able to act right away. Dottie is free-range to the max--no coop for her, she even sleeps up in the trees. Needless to say, it took me a while...
Success..so far!! Dottie's prolapsed cloaca is back inside. Yesterday, I cleaned her up as much as I could, applied honey, and pushed her cloaca back inside. A couple hours later, the cloaca was back out, but I didn't push it back inside because I found a thread where someone reported that when...
Thank you, Hallock234, good info...Hadn't considered how adept the coyotes are. Hunting is not allowed where I live (still within the city limits. But the rest of the suggestions sure could work.
Hey, folks, I just read some threads that might help. Looks like a prolapse. I will separate her from the flock and try the honey. Any other suggestions are welcome
A couple days ago, Dottie (my Wyandotte) had the runs; so I watched her and yesterday she was back to being fine. Early this morning, she was on her nestbox (trying to lay an egg I thought) so I left her alone. I just went out to check her and she is back to having loose poop PLUS she has what...
I live on the outskirts of town and have free range chickens. My (6 acre) property is fenced, but the fencing is for goats and my chickens go through to surrounding acreage. Last year, I lost more than a dozen chickens to coyotes..and maybe some dogs. They attacked in the morning when there was...
Hi, all!
I know it's a little late in coming--only what? 6 years? Oh well, I was looking for info on this topic and came across this post. Just wanted to share some links with good info I just found...

Thank you so much for the information. I had looked at other posts (poop charts) that had pics of "normal" poop and I thought my chick's poop was similar to those. Glad I asked..I will get what you suggested ASAP.
