Totally agree. Snips are the way yo go. I was struggling with the wire cutters until someone at home depot suggested tin snips. they worked beautifully.
They mainly sleep there. I let them range during the day( notice the stripped backyard). When the run is complete, they will live in that large run/coop while i go to work and be let out on weekends.
We started building our chicken palace last summer & continued though the winter.
