Update on Chickaletta:
She is still moving around slowly and doing a lot of sleeping but she did get up and eat when I offered her pellets softened with some water. Hopefully by morning she will be back to her mischievous self!

No I didn't have anything on hand. One thing I failed to check for is bumble foot so we will do that first thing in the morning! Gonna be a long night but have my fingers crossed she'll be okay

Studmuffin is a feed store find. We liked his color and wanted him for our bantam flock. The problem: Roosters aren't welcome in my neighborhood. We thought he was a pullet. He has a very quiet and infrequent crow. He is 9-10 wks old.

He's really beautiful. I don't think he is a "silver" though - as the silver OEGB looks like this:

You may try offering him for free in the buy-sell-trade here on BYC is that is your objective or sell him for the price -- and you may also want to check in the OEGB threads with his color designation. (then let us know -- because although - I once considered OEGB bantam - I don't know much about the breed.

Good luck finding a nice home for him - he looks pretty. I wonder if he is a blue? was he darker as a chick? --

ON ANOTHER NOTE--- I'm in East TX -- the weather forecast is 99-degrees but the heat index is over 108(and I think that is a lowball estimate). If a chicken's body gets over 104-degrees they will die because that temp exceeds where they can expell heat ...So everyone be careful out there today -- and keep your flocks cool

I"M counting the days until summer is over and hoping we all will make it to then.

Morning update:

Chickaletta be bopped out of the coop this morning like nothing ever happened! Apparently yesterday was a fluke. Now to just keep my babies cool! It's already 95 with an index of 106....

I neglected to add free to title. I copied this from a post I made in the free/rehome section. No responses so far. Pretty sure he will turn out silver as his chick pic was spot on. Plus he is starting get darker on his chest and tail. He startedsilver silver and white.

But who knows.
