My silkie hen is between 19-22 weeks old and still not laying. We have s silkie roo as well who crows constantly but I have not seen any mating. Are they still immature?
I have a 18-20 week old silkie hen named daisy. Today I noticed she had dug into the dirt like a nest. She is pretty skittish but when I came close to her she didn't move. And when she did she went back to the same spot right away. Do you think she's close to laying? Or that's what she's trying...
I was talking with a friend who has chickens and she was thinking maybe it was bullied out of food or water. Or possible pecked hard and had internal bleeding. Idk.
I have a 7 week old barred rock that is lethargic. I went out this morning and she's not moving around a lot. I got her to drink some honey water and put her into a separate box incase she's sick. I've lost two other barred rocks 2 months ago and they were acting the same as this one. And died...
So when my silkies were really young they weren't handled a lot. And now I'm kicking myself for it because they run from me and won't let me pet or hold them. They are about 14 weeks now. Anyone have advice for this? Will they always run from me?
Can anyone help me age my silkies and maybe tell what sex they are? We got them from TSC. They told us when we got them they were a week old but they looked way older. That was almost 2 months ago
