    Advice please

OK. Thanks so much for that. We can collect a poop sample and take it to the vet and see if she is prepared to do the test for us. Fingers crossed all will be good.

    Advice please

Hi, Thanks for that. We're 99.99% she didn't break a bone, but, what we're not sure about is if she has suffered any internal damage. If it was us we could go up the hospital for an x-ray. But unfortunately we can't do that with her.

    Advice please

We live in rural France and the vets over here do not look at chickens let alone treat them! We have tried. We have had some antibiotics off the vet, even though she would not see the bird, but was advised to be careful unless it was a bacterial infection. Thanks for your reply and any ideas...

    Advice please

Hi. About 5 weeks ago we asked the question about our sick chicken that had been attacked by a Hen Harrier and injured her leg. Since then she has been making very steady and good progress. So much so that this last week she has been keeping up with our other chicken. Eating normally. Even...

    Injured chicken

Latest update and another question please. It's been 2 weeks tomorrow since she was attacked. Now she gets around quite well even with a pronounced limp. Her droppings are back to normal, and she seems as alert as she was before. They are both still petrified if they hear a strange noise from...

    Injured chicken

Hi. Update on our injured little girl. We followed your advice and did not give her the antibiotics. She has been eating yogurt, eggs, pasta, rice and corn, with a little of her pellets. Her droppings are now very close to being "normal". The bright green has gone now and they are solid. She is...

    Injured chicken

Just as I posted the last reply, a big Hen Harrier landed in our garden! I wonder???? Haven't seen one here before. I ran to check our other chook and she was hiding in the log store.

    Injured chicken

Thanks for your information and the links. Which do make depressing reading and hopefully is not the case for our little chook. There are not many symptoms there which match hers. But as you say, they can vary. Although the vet did not see her, I told her a full list of events and what has...

    Injured chook

Thank you for the information and your kind words of support. Interesting about the junior aspirin. Will give her a full one tomorrow. Have had some antibiotics from the vet, but been advised on another thread to be careful if it's not a bacterial infection. She has been eating better this...

    Injured chicken

Hi. Thank you for your reply. We hope it's not that either. It seems strange that she was running about as normal, then all of a sudden she couldn't move. The green dropping started yesterday, but today there is more white than green, even though it is still sloppy. Actually just found a vet...

    Injured chicken

Hi, We have 2 hens who are about 18 months old. They have free range of our garden which is approx 2500sqm. 2 days ago 1 of the hens was perfect one minute, up at the window and door trying to get into the house where they know the food comes from, then we think she had a fall in the garage...
