I can't find my camera anywhere! Why is it that when you DON'T need something... you can put your hands on it at any time, but as SOON as you need it, it's nowhere to be found? Ugh! I promise to find it and post pics. soon!

I have MANY new chicks from my Dominique hens crossed with a gold Silkie Roo. (Someone PALEEZE take some of these biddies off my hands!). Any who... what would be a good name for the cross? Silkinique? Dominilkies? Ha ha. I'm giving a free chick for the best name!
I will try to take a few pictures of the various outcomes of the older chicks. They are quite interesting!
I am in north Central Georgia in Eatonton which is about an hour south of Atlanta and 45 minutes north of Macon. I travel back and forth to Columbia, South Carolina frequently as well...
I have toooooo many chickens! I have two Dominique hens and a beautiful gold Silkie rooster who have been VERY busy this year! I already have 8 chicks from them and now have had 16 more hatch yesterday. They are quite striking when grown: Most of them are black & white like the Dominiques...
I woke up this morning to find all the chicks doing well. My one hen had the rest of her eggs hatch during the night, and she was sitting on a brood of ten beautiful chicks! The other hen (the one that had the egg explode) still had three chicks, but another egg had pipped during the night...
My other hen has three chicks too! She has 9 more eggs that all have pipped! Now.... what to do with all the chicks. Does anyone near central Georgia want any free Dominique/Silkie chicks?
:
Horray!!! I came home today to the sound of cheeping under my Domonique hen. I braved several pecks and lifted her off the nest to find three beautiful Silkie/Domonique chicks. Three other eggs still show no sign of pipping, but I'm thrilled I've got three. My other hen is sitting on a nest...
I've gotta question. I have a broody hen sitting on 6 eggs that are due to hatch in about 3 or 4 days. I came home today to find one of them had exploded and the rest of them had some of the "goo" on them. I wiped them off the best I could. Will the bacteria from the bad egg kill the chicks...
Jazzchick... it's a small world! I see you have Silkies? I just got a silkie roo. He is soooo sweet. My other girls don't know what to think of him yet.
What a difference! A lady not too far away from me gave me her Silkie Rooster. He is so sweet! I introduced him to "the girls" today. After a little puffing and jumping at each other, the girls readily accepted them as their new man. (I posted earlier in this thread about having to shoot...
