These are the 6 I got a few days ago! They're 5-6w old. They are SOOOOOO docile! The kids hold them and they snuggle in their hands. TOO cute! Here are some pics. I have a sheer fabric, as you can see, draped just under the top of the cage just in case they decide to boink up. So far, not much...
I cut up a nice juicy dark red tomato and they LOVED it! Def going to get them some dark greens like kale/spinach etc. The grocery store sometimes has them on quick sale because they are soon to expire..... they'd eat it in a day anyway! Going to post pics in a new thread......

Thanks so much for the info! We ended up with 6 coturnix females (at least, I'm pretty sure I have 6 since I used coloring to identify them). They are about 6w old. I'll have to take some pics tomorrow and have everyone help me figure out what colors they are.
Thanks for the help! I have been reading about the coturnix for the last few hours. Looks like a good option for us. Could you keep them indoors? I have a huge 52" dog crate that I am going to use and go around it with hardware cloth and elevate it on a table. I just don't have much in the way...
