    Diarrhea?

I've had success from using DE against mites and worms. I usually sprinkle DE in the nesting box and give them DE with Cayenne Powder in their feed if I suspect they may have worms. However, maybe it won't work for everyone. What works for somebody may not work for someone else.

Buff Orp with Salmonella. Cull or Cure?

She has only laid once since we got her from a swap meet.2 months ago. I can feel her breastbone more than yesterday so maybe she hasn't eaten since yesterday? I will definitely come back if I need more advice. Thank you so much!

Buff Orp with Salmonella. Cull or Cure?

Thank You for responding :) and no I have not tested her but from the symptoms she is exhibiting I believe it is salmonella. She is lethargic and has runny green poo (very stinky), she was always in the corner huddled when she was with the other hens, she doesn't have a purple comb and wattles...

    Diarrhea?

If it is worms I suggest putting DE in their food. Its a natural dewormer. Also, the color of the poo can help indicate what is wrong with her. :) hope she gets well soon!!

    Egg deformed

the dots are calcium deposits :). They are not harmful, it just means that the hen is having excess intake of calcium. She is probably still working out the kinks as Wyorp rock stated. Give her a few more weeks to sort it out.

Buff Orp with Salmonella. Cull or Cure?

My hen recently contracted salmonella and has not been looking good for the past 3 days. I separated her from the rest of the flock and we don't know if we should try to cure her or cull her. Will she be a carrier of the disease? what about her eggs? If we cull her is her meat safe to eat...

Chicken only lays inside the house.

Well I appreciate the Egg song it means that I'll have an amazing breakfast omelet ;). The neighbors, however, might have a different opinion. But I have dogs so they will just have to get used to the noise like they did my dogs barking

Chicken only lays inside the house.

Okay well thank you very much :) I was wondering if maybe I was spoiling her bringing her inside the house to lay. I was mostly worried about the neighbors being annoyed by her singing. But I guess I'll just leave her be. Thank you

Chicken only lays inside the house.

Sorry still getting the hang of this. They are in a chicken coop with a very large run. Yes she has a nest box but since I only have two hens and only one is laying we thought only one nest box would be enough until the other one started laying.

Chicken only lays inside the house.

Hey everyone!!! Newbie here. So I'm confused because one of my hens only lays an egg when I bring her inside the house and put her in a dog crate. Otherwise she will sing he egg song all morning without laying the egg. Has anybody else experienced this? Any advise?
